This two-part event includes panel presentations with three northern Ontario municipalities and a showcase of research and student work from two postsecondary institutions.  Presenting municipalities, who are localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and/or implementing Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs), are the Cities of Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, and Thunder Bay.  Postsecondary institutions contributing to these activities are Algoma University and Lakehead University.   Considerations of SDG implementation specific to Northern Ontario will be discussed and two different VLR approaches will be described.  SDG-focused local projects undertaken collaboratively by the Cities and Universities will also be shared.
